The Oakland Raiders: 1st Place atop the AFC West

The Oakland Raiders have seen their fair share of ups and downs.  To be exact, these past 10 years have been a lot of downs.  One would say it has been very tough to be an Oakland Raiders fan.  Since the Super Bowl appearance in 2003, the Raiders have struggled to reach a winning season.  Season after season, Oakland has finished at the bottom of their division, the AFC West.  It wasn’t until last year that the franchise has turned things around.  Oakland finished the season with an even record of 8-8, going undefeated against division rivals, but unfortunately missed the Playoffs.  After the season, owner Al Davis decided to part ways with Raiders head coach, Cable, and promoted then assistant coach, Jackson, to now head coach.  The Raiders this season have gotten off to a good start while having to deal with the passing of former owner Al Davis.  Tonight the Raiders took on the Chicago Bears, in which turned out to be a kicking game where spectators watched several field goals being made.  Oakland pulled out the victory 25-20, which upgraded their record to 7-4 on the season and still currently in 1st place in the AFC West.  Great job Raiders!
